Dogs come from a variety of sources. Their current owners give up many due to changes in their circumstances or behavioral problems.

Veterinary Care

All dogs taken to the rescue are spayed or neutered if age and health permit. If their vaccinations are not updated or are strays, we give them all necessary vaccinations and a complete veterinary check, including testing for parasites, including heartworm. Again, age and health permitting, they are treated for any treatable ailments identified by our veterinarians.

Fostering

All dogs are put in foster care for a minimum of two weeks to evaluate them and to get to know as much about them as possible. Often, foster families must work extensively with health and behavior problems under the guidance of the foster coordinator.
